GWE Team visited SEZ Rashakai
The SunSaviour team in Peshawar visited the Special Economic Zone, Rashakai (RSEZ). Engr Javed Khattak, Chief Executive Officer of KPEZDMC Peshawar facilitated the visit. The GWE Team comprised of Prof M Subhan Qureshi, Engr Saad Rashid and Engr Irfan Qureshi.
Mr Ahsan Laiq, Manager SEZ and Engr Sardar Ali made necessary arrangements for getting a brief on the background and current progress made by investors in various sectors.
The GWE Team showed interest in establishing a production facility for solar Inverters and batteries in collaboration with Chinese counterparts.
The KPEZDMC officials appreciated the idea and considered it a potential step in getting import substitution and generation of exportable surpluses and decent employment.
Rashakai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ) is spread over an area of 1000 acres, a flagship project under the industrial cooperation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework. SEZ is a joint venture of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and KPEZDMC. An SPV Company of these two entities named Rashakai Special Economic Zone Development and Operations Company (RSEZDOC) is responsible for development and operations of the zone. Located on Motorway (M1) near CPEC route, it is 60 km away from Peshawar to the west and 90 km away from Islamabad to the east. Distancing 800 km from Khunjerab Pass in the north, 111.6 km from Torkham Border, and 39.6 km from Azakhel Dry Port, which gives Rashakai a unique strategic advantage to serve the consumer markets of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Southwest China, Afghanistan, and Central Asia. Enabling a business-friendly environment for attracting foreign direct investment and relocation of the high-tech industry from the world, paving the way for technology transfer. Prof Qureshi invited the KPEZDMC authorities to participate in the First International Solar Expo and Conference at Shiraz Arena Peshawar on June 1-2, 2024, powered by #SunSaviour and attract investors. The CEO KPEZDMC and his team at SEZ Rashakai will participate in the expo and participate in the panel discussions leading to development of policy guidelines to overcome the issues faced by the stakeholders belonging to various industrial sectors, especially the solar energy.
